Financial Aid is available to students at St. Ignatius College Preparatory with demonstrated financial need. Through the generosity of our benefactors, we are able to offer financial assistance to families whose children would otherwise be unable to attend SI. Over 21% of our students receive some financial assistance, and our total grants to date are $1.7 million for the 2008-09 academic year. The average grant awarded was approximately $5,600.
The financial aid process and the admissions process are completely separate and are made by two independent committees. The admissions decisions are made "need blind" and the financial aid decisions are made " merit blind."
Meeting the deadlines listed above is critical. Families applying for financial aid should plan to file their 2008 tax returns early. Do not wait until your child is admitted to apply for financial aid. As there is a limited amount of funds to disburse, late applicants may find there is no financial aid available.
All scholarships at SI are need based. Therefore, a family must apply for financial aid to receive consideration for a named scholarship. SI does not award any grants based strictly on merit. Athletic scholarships are not permitted at the high school level.
