SI's Sunset District campus was built in 1969, but the school has been modernized several times since then, the most recent being the summer of 2006 with improvements made to every classroom and lab, from digital presenters and overhead LCDs to modular chairs and desks that can be easily moved to accommodate group projects.
Our remodeled science labs allow students to have state-of-the-art stations to perform experiments and test theories in biology, chemistry and physics.
When we remodeled the labs, we also built a wonderful pool complex, a second gym (nearly twice the size of our original gym) and a second theatre while also remodeling the rest of the campus, including the Alfred S. Wilsey Library.
In 2004, we built a counseling center to gather all our resources into one centralized location to help students with any problem they might have and to give them the best advice we can regarding colleges. We even built a peer-assistance center to train students to help their classmates.
We're not done making improvements. Right now, we're building a new choral arts center, classroom, weight-room complex and pavilion next to the Student Activities Center scheduled to be completed by the fall of 2007, and we're making improvements on two fields in Daly City that will give our teams more room to practice and compete. We're also planning to build a retreat center in Marin County.
In short, our 11-acre campus is one of the best high school facilities in the state, and we're working to make it even better. If you come to SI, you'll find everything you need to have a great high school experience.
